Short case study of SediVision® technology use at Florida wastewater treatment plant to assist in the expansion of the facility.

Problem:

A utility in Southwest Florida planned to expand its 0.25 MGD facility. To facilitate the expansion, optimal capacity needed to be restored in the plant’s three existing structures. SediVision’s advanced imaging and mapping technology was used to estimate the quantity of sand and grit and help guide the facility managers in this preparation.

How SediVision Helped:

SediVision identified a total of 183.3 cubic yards in the existing equalization (EQ) tank, digester, and aeration tank. This estimate was less than the utility had anticipated.

Outcome:

The utility was able to properly plan and budget for restoring capacity in its existing structures as part of its expansion, which ensured that the project execution was uneventful and that change orders for unplanned expenses were avoided
